Travels in Australia
This page is dedicated to Australia, where I spent a year working and travelling. It was an experience I'll never forget as I met the coolest people and saw the most amazing sights. I couldn't fit in all the numerous photo's but here is just a brief selection for you to enjoy.

Sydney Opera House Had to start with the obligatory Opera House photo. Like most travellers I spent a lot of time in Sydney temping and living in Bondi Beach where Irish people were everywhere (though there was Kylie). Sydney's a cool place though I must say being a beach babe is really not me so I settled for being a Carlton Cold babe instead.
12 Apostles,Victoria
Here is a picture of the 12 Apostles in Victoria. My friends and I visited these limestone structures as part of a trip we did for my 23rd Birthday driving from Sydney to Melbourne and around Victoria. We camped along the way and had the best time especially as I have no driver's licence so it was cruise city for me!
Here are the hammocks on Magnetic Island in Queensland which was my first stop after Cairns and scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef (totally amazing!). I love this picture even though I was a Billy no mates as all I did all day was lie in the hammock on the left and read 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest' from cover to cover.
This is my Dutch friend Femke beside our jeep on Fraser Island, still on the East Coast. This was a trip a group of us did from the youth hostel in Bundaberg where we were packing sweetcorn and peppers. We were so fed up of the awful work and small town, we were dying for this trip. Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and Katie who was driving managed to tip the jeep off a dune with all of us inside! Luckily, no one was harmed but it'll defiantly be a long time before I get into a old jeep again.
It was back to fruit picking to get more cash to continue. This is tomato picking in Childers in Queensland. It was usually very sunny but when it did rain it was out with the rain macks and continue picking. As you can see I was very at one with the earth!
Here is a friend I made called Krissey when we were on a trip of Western Australia. She was absolutley hilarious and we had a mad time camping out along the way. We cooked all our food ourselves and on the fire you can see the traditional Aussie damper bread cooking in the pot.
This photo doesn't do justice to the amazing beauty of this waterfall called Twin Falls. This is in Kakadu National Park outside Darwin which is such an amazing place I couldn't begin to give it full credit. We had to swim to reach this waterfall and I felt like I was in the heart of Africa as we got closer and closer to the beautiful waterfalls. Again this is in Kakadu and is our guide standing beside a Cathedral termite mound. These huge structures are actually built by tiny little termites who are blind and any little bit you break away a team of them rushes out to rebuild. Reminds me of something I saw on Star Trek once... .
Where else could this be but Central Australia, right in the middle of the good old outback. This is the group having a laugh as you can see by everyone holding Claire with a tiny Ayers Rock and the Olgas in the background. The sun setting on Ayers Rock. As the sun sets the rock goes through so many beautiful changes of colour.
Here we all are enjoying some Champagene during sun set at Ayers Rock. It really is a breathtaking sight and definantly one to visit. This is the group again in front of the Olgas which are what I would call the neighbours of Ayers Rock.(That's my wonderful Geography showing!)
